A subset of students surveyed in PELS granted the study permission to access their public records, including hospital records of those students who became parents between 1996 and 2003 and criminal records of those students who were arrested between 1996 and 2004. These records are maintained on a secure computer at the Philadelphia Education Fund and cannot be released for outside research.
