ArtsRising will encourage creativity in schools and neighborhoods; forge new connections between schools and arts partners in the city; engage youth and community members; and celebrate the strong relationship among the arts, learning and youth development. Guided by the following outcomes, this initiative plans to build and integrate the arts into every child’s education.
Outcomes
- Increased supply: The project will build opportunities for young people to engage in arts and culture, and will increase student participation in these opportunities.
- Increased student engagement: Students will be more engaged in school as they participate in arts projects.
- Increased parents and community support for children’s participation in arts experiences and increased advocacy for continuously improving and sustaining arts participation.
- Increased capacity of arts partners to collaborate with schools to provide children’s arts experiences in and after school.
- Increased development of effective programming for children among arts organizations, both community and citywide.
- Communities demonstrate increased support for the arts for young people and families.
- Greater presence of the arts in schools.
- Pathways to connect arts organizations and schools are established.
- Arts Rising will be developed as a sustainable model for ten-year growth
