This year marks the 6^th anniversary of the Score 4 Scholarships 5-on-5 Basketball Tournament benefiting the Philadelphia Scholars program. In 2007, Jermaine Bromell, a former Philadelphia Scholar and current member of the program’s Advisory Committee, helped to organize the first tournament at the famed University of Pennsylvania’s Palestra. Throughout the years, over 100 players of all ability levels have helped us to raise over $160,000 towards college scholarships for Philadelphia public school students through this event.

The tournament is an “NCAA style” bracket competition and features three competitive divisions with up to eight basketball teams in each division. Trophies are awarded to winners in each division, and all participants receive T-shirts, food and beverages at the event.

This year’s event should be better than ever, featuring a variety of new and exciting opportunities for involvement including:

Celebrity Coaching: National and local sports and entertainment celebrities will be lending their basketball “expertise” to each of the teams involved.
