Explore STEM Philly

The goal of Explore STEM Philly is to increase student interest and success in STEM, and demonstrate that they can have a future in those fields. With the help of volunteers and partner organizations, Explore STEM Philly provides both “in classroom” and “real world” opportunities to enhance existing STEM curriculum.

STEM career guides AND Tutors

Volunteers from STEM professions visit classrooms as STEM Career Guides, discuss their career paths, and relate their work to STEM curriculum. In the real world, partner organizations often host field trips so that students can explore and visualize potential STEM work environments. These excursions inspire young people to see the rewards of pursuing a future in STEM.

Volunteers may also participate in more in-depth settings and tutor students (individually or in small groups) as STEM Tutors.
