Through the College Access Program, PEF is providing full-time college and advising services to students, including those who are first-generation-to-college, in 6 low graduation rate high schools. Our students graduate high school, apply, and attend college at a rate that is well above the average for their peers.

Our Philadelphia Postsecondary Success Program consults with 15 Philadelphia public schools in the design and implementation of school-wide strategies and activities that are predictive of high school completion and college readiness.

School district funding shortages mean college counseling is not fully available in every Philadelphia public high school, but thanks to PEF’s free PhillyGoes2College online portal, it is available to every Philadelphia high school student.

Mitigating financial barriers to a college education.

Our Philadelphia Scholars Program awards Philadelphia public school graduates with college scholarships that bridge the gap between their financial aid packages and the actual cost of attendance. We also provide persistence support though career programs and peer support.

PEF regularly convenes education stakeholders in constructive dialogue through our Education First Compact, a monthly speaker series that draws 900 attendees a year; Educate Philly: PEF’s Annual Gala and Master Class; our education Author Series; and our 400-member collective impact effort, the Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem.

PEF regularly convenes education stakeholders in constructive dialogue through our Education First Compact, a monthly speaker series that draws 900 attendees a year; and Educate Philly, PEF’s Annual Gala and Master Class. In addition, PEF serves as the backbone for the 800+ member Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem, the 10-year/10 million dollar Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective, and the state-funded Pennsylvania Statewide STEM Ecosystem.
