Professional Development Consulting

The McKinney Center for STEM Education can provide teacher training on a variety of topics ranging from Simply STEM to STEM, Values and Society.  These workshops and supports can be designed for multiple levels of educator experience, learning environments, and student age groups.  Please see our flyer for more details: STEM PD one-page.

STEM Teaching Fellows Programs

McKinney Center’s STEM Teaching Fellows Programs are sponsored by The School District of Philadelphia, PECO, and Johnson Matthey. The Fellows Programs are intensive—and fun—professional development series designed for classroom teachers and informal educators who seek to enrich their students’ STEM content knowledge, skillsets, and literacy.

Participants attend workshops and complete capstone projects, which are original and engaging STEM lesson plans to implement in their learning environments. They receive assistance implementing their projects, a stipend, and Act 48 or PQAS credits.

Research shows that the most important factor in student learning is a highly effective classroom teacher.
