Full circle moment as two PEF trips to Penn State Abington bring current students in touch with College Access Program (CAP) alumna, Alberlin Del Orbe Rodriguez.
This past school year, Alberlin took part in welcoming two different PEF groups onto Penn State Abington’s campus for admissions visits – Olney High School’s College Access Program and a group through PEF’s Fostering College Readiness initiative.
For these PEF students, Alberlin was a wonderful and relatable example of where a college degree can take you and why leveraging all resources at your disposal, especially as a first-generation college student, is so critical to success.
Alberlin Del Orbe Rodriguez graduated from Olney’s College Access Program in 2017 and the photo above (which you might recognize from several of our marketing materials!) was taken at that graduation ceremony.
Alberlin then went on to attend Penn State Abington as a recipient of PEF’s Last Dollar Scholarship. She returned to her alma mater in 2023 to become their first bilingual admissions officer.
