Black, Latino, and low-income students attend and complete college at far lower rates than their peers. For more than a decade, through its Philadelphia Postsecondary Success Program (PPSP), PEF has worked to address this inequity by supporting high schools in efforts to improve their college-going culture. In recognition of our work and with an eye towards its expansion, this Fall, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation awarded PEF a capacity-building grant to prepare PEF to move from serving four schools to serving 10 schools.
