Meet Garrett Graff, Educate Philly Panelist, This Thursday, 6/18

Joining our Educate Philly – The Media and Education panel of Ed Rendell and Tamala Edwards is a leading voice you should know: Garrett M. Graff, distinguished magazine journalist and bestselling historian.

Garrett has spent more than a dozen years covering politics, technology, and national security. He’s written for publications from Esquire to Rolling Stone to the The New York Times and has served as editor of two of Washington’s most prestigious magazines, Washingtonian and POLITICO. Today, he serves as the director of cyber initiatives for The Aspen Institute and is a contributor to WIRED and CNN.

Garrett is also the author of multiple books, including The Threat Matrix: Inside Robert Mueller’s FBI; the national bestseller, Raven Rock, about the government’s Cold War Doomsday plans; and his most recent book, a New York Times bestseller and #1 national bestseller, The Only Plane in the Sky: An Oral History of 9/11.

 

The panel, moderated by PEF President and CEO Farah Jimenez, will discuss the media’s impact on students’ understanding of the world around them, from the COVID-19 pandemic to the upcoming Presidential election. Q & A will be live — be ready with your questions!
