Penn students Manasa Sudunagunta and Lonard Encarnacion have joined the McKinney Center for STEM Education team for summer 2020. Since 2015, McKinney students have created and downloaded data from online evaluations, assembled and distributed monthly newsletters, and designs lessons for professional development courses. In addition to these tasks, Manasa and Lonard will help develop energy curricula, gather information for an online STEM Program Directory, and convert in-person lessons to online platforms.

Manasa is a sophomore studying Geology and Economics. From Texas, she attended a magnet high school with a STEM-based curriculum which ignited her passion for STEM education and education reform. Lonard is a senior majoring in Health and Societies with a concentration in Global Health and minor in Chemistry. He is also part of the Penn First Mentorship Program and works with first-generation, low-income peers pursuing STEM majors.
