It takes courage to share your story, especially in front of a room of more than 200 business leaders, philanthropists, civic leaders and a former and a current Mayor of Philadelphia. Maria Khan displayed that courage at PEF’s Educate Philly Gala in June. And, she also demonstrated why she was selected to receive the inaugural Shining Star Award – presented to a Philadelphia Scholar who demonstrates leadership and academic achievement. But PEF wasn’t the only organization to recognize Maria, a Biology and Pre-Med Major at Cabrini University with a 3.95 GPA. Read her full story in the Cabrini News (posted July, 2019).
