College Access Coordinator, Frankford High School

Amaya joined PEF in 2024 as a CAP Coordinator for Frankford High School, bringing her passion for empowering students to their educational journeys. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

Growing up in Raleigh, Amaya was deeply involved in local nonprofits, including Read and Feed, an organization that provides literacy support and free meals to underserved children. This experience inspired her lifelong dedication to education and community outreach. After college, Amaya served with AmeriCorps, where she designed and led a summer learning camp for low-income K-8 Students. This solidified her commitment to helping young people achieve their educational goals and inspired her current role at PEF.

Outside of work, Amaya enjoys reading, watching movies, working out, and listening to music.
